What do I need to do to get started?

Call, email or stop by to schedule your Strategy Session. During this 15-30 minute initial visit, we want to learn more about you, your goals, needs, prior workout experience, etc. We will also walk you through our Functional Movement Screen, which helps us determine if there are certain movement patterns that we need to avoid in order to reduce the risk of injury.

If you would like, we can begin your first workout that same day immediately following your Strategy Session.

How often do you recommend I workout?

That depends on your goals, current activity level and several other factors but a good general rule of thumb is about three times per week. This is something we will recommend to you based on your specific circumstances.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. All of our services are offered month to month. We do however, offer incentives for those willing to commit to longer periods of time. We believe there is no quick fix solution to achieving your goals and making that commitment will help you achieve greater levels of success.

What if I cannot fulfill my agreement?

We understand sometimes things happen unexpectedly. If you cancel your agreement early, you just pay the difference between the 6-month and month to month rate for however many months you stay. So there really isn’t a downside to cancelling early, you just pay the difference.

What if it’s my first time?

Excellent! Welcome to Blue Ocean Fitness! If attending a TEAM class, we recommend arriving 5-10 minutes prior to the start so we can walk you through our warm-up and answer any questions you may have.

If you’re scheduled for a Semi Private training session, no need to show up early! We will walk you through everything at the start of your scheduled appointment.

How long is each workout?

A typical Semi Private training session lasts about 45 minutes.

Aside from our BootCamp class, which lasts 55 minutes, our TEAM training classes are all 30 minutes.

What do I need to bring to workout?

A great attitude! We also recommend a water bottle (we have a drinking fountain if you forget), athletic shoes and clothing that allows you to move around comfortably.

What if I am running late?

We get it. Life happens. If you show up late we will do our best to help you get the most out of your scheduled time remaining.

Do you have showers?

Yes! We have two large, private showers.

Do you accept walk ins?

For our TEAM classes, yes. You do not have to register in advance to participate.

For our Semi Private training sessions, no. These sessions are scheduled in advance to ensure we have the proper number of coaches available.

What if I don’t use all of my Semi Private sessions one month?

We understand things can get complicated, therefore unused sessions may be used during the following month.

What is MyZone?

MyZone is a chest strap monitoring system that tracks your heart rate, calories burned and effort in real time. MyZone allows you to track your effort to ensure you are working hard enough to achieve your goals.

This technology also gives us feedback to help determine when it would be appropriate to push harder and when we need to slow the workout down.

How much does MyZone cost?

The chest strap is a onetime $110 investment.

What is an InBody scan?

This technology uses bio-impedance in order to measure water and lean body mass.

Bio-impedance works by measuring electrical resistance across your body. Muscle and lean tissue have a lower resistance to the flow of electricity, so the leaner you are, the lower you measure in terms of impedance. Water has very little resistance to electricity, while fat has a high resistance.

There is no charge to our clients for this service. We recommend testing when you first begin and every 6-12 weeks thereafter.

Do I need to schedule a time for my InBody scan?

Yes. The test only takes 2-3 minutes but we schedule these in advance to ensure we have a coach available to assist you.

In order to get an accurate measurement, perform the test prior to working out, and at a time when you haven’t consumed any food or drinks (excluding water) for a minimum of four hours.

To improve consistency and accuracy, we recommend individuals re-test around the same time of day as prior.

How do I pay?

All of our monthly programs automatically renew on a month to month basis. To cancel, please email us at blueoceanfitness@gmail.com at least 5 days prior to the renewal date.
All of our 6-month programs are billed based on the dates set forth in the initial agreement. At the end of the 6-month agreement, your program will automatically renew on a month to month basis. To cancel, please email us at blueoceanfitness@gmail.com at least 5 days prior to the renewal date.
